Assam Rifles concludes summer camp 2026

Shillong, June 28: Assam Rifles has successfully concluded its Summer Camp 2026, marking the culmination of an engaging and activity-filled programme held from 01 to 19 June 2026 at HQ DGAR, Laitkor, Shillong. The closing ceremony of the camp was held on 27 June 2026.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from 65 children, who were exposed to a wide range of educational, recreational, and skill-building activities aimed at overall personality development and holistic growth. The initiative provided young participants with an opportunity to learn discipline, teamwork, creativity, and leadership in a structured yet enjoyable environment.
During the camp, children participated in diverse activities including equestrian training, football, boxing, drone flying, self-defence techniques, yoga, art and craft, calligraphy, dance, and music. The programme also included cleanliness drives, tree plantation activities, treasure hunts, and personal development sessions designed to build confidence and awareness among participants.
To further enrich their experience, the children were taken on educational visits to the Assam Rifles Museum and the Air Force Museum, where they gained insights into the history, heritage, and role of the armed forces in nation-building.
The closing ceremony was graced by Mrs Vibha Lakhera, President of the Assam Rifles Wives Welfare Association (ARWWA), who felicitated the winners and outstanding performers of the camp. She appreciated the efforts of the organisers and encouraged the children to continue striving for excellence in all aspects of life.
She also highlighted the importance of such initiatives in nurturing young minds, fostering discipline, and encouraging them to adopt a balanced lifestyle that combines education, fitness, creativity, and values.
The Summer Camp 2026 concluded on a positive and inspiring note, leaving participants with memorable experiences, new skills, and enhanced confidence. Assam Rifles reiterated its commitment to such youth-oriented initiatives that contribute to the development and well-being of future generations.
