Noney , April 29: Assam Rifles conducted a First Aid Training Workshop at Charoi Chakatlong-III village in Noney district, Manipur, as part of its community outreach and capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening emergency response at the grassroots level.
The workshop, held on April 28, 2026, was designed to equip villagers with essential life-saving skills to manage medical emergencies until professional assistance becomes available. A total of 23 local residents participated in the training programme.
During the session, trained instructors from Assam Rifles demonstrated and provided hands-on practice in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), wound management, basic fracture handling, and emergency response techniques. Participants were also briefed on how to act quickly and safely in critical situations such as accidents, injuries, and sudden health complications.
Officials said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to improve health awareness and preparedness in remote and underserved areas, where access to immediate medical facilities is often limited.
Villagers actively engaged in the session and expressed appreciation for the training, stating that the knowledge gained would help them respond more confidently during emergencies and potentially save lives.
Assam Rifles reiterated its commitment to conducting similar awareness and skill-development programmes across remote regions to promote community resilience and strengthen public health preparedness.
