Imphal, April 4: The Srikona Battalion of Assam Rifles carried out a significant humanitarian outreach initiative across several remote locations in Manipur, marking the observance of Good Friday with service to local communities. The initiative focused on distributing essential items to villagers in New Kaiphundai (Tamenglong District), Nungba (Noney District), Borobekra, and Jiribam, aiming to support families in need and strengthen civil-military relations in the region.

At St John Catholic Church in Nungba, the outreach was organized by the Nungba COB, where essential supplies were distributed to numerous local families. The event drew the participation of approximately 250 community members, demonstrating the deep trust and mutual respect between the Assam Rifles and the local population.
The initiative not only provided immediate relief through essential goods but also fostered goodwill, highlighting the Assam Rifles’ commitment to humanitarian service alongside their operational duties.
