February 08, 2026 | BK News Service

Tamenglong,, Feb 6: The Assam Rifles organized a medical camp in the remote village of Puilong, Tamenglong District, Manipur, providing much-needed healthcare services to a community with limited access to medical facilities. Residents of Puilong often undertake long and arduous journeys to reach the nearest health centres, making routine medical care challenging.

During the camp, the Assam Rifles team conducted general health check-ups for all villagers, diagnosing common ailments and assessing the overall health status of the community. Essential medicines were distributed on-site to address immediate healthcare needs, ensuring that the residents could access treatment without traveling long distances.
The initiative highlighted the Assam Rifles’ commitment to community welfare and its proactive role in bridging healthcare gaps in remote areas. By combining medical assistance with logistical support, the camp reinforced civil–military cooperation and emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare for vulnerable populations in Manipur’s far-flung regions.
