
Kolkata, Mar 12: As part of Operation Sadbhavana, the Assam Rifles organised a National Integration Tour for students from the Bhandari area of Wokha. On 11 March 2026, the students visited the Headquarters of the Eastern Command in Kolkata.
During the visit, the students interacted with the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, who briefed them on the Indian Army’s role in safeguarding the nation and encouraged them to pursue their personal and academic aspirations with dedication and discipline. The students also toured the Eastern Command Museum, where they learned about India’s military heritage, operational achievements, and the sacrifices of soldiers over the years.
In addition to educational activities, the students participated in a boating exercise on the Hooghly River within the Eastern Command premises, allowing them to experience teamwork and leadership in a practical setting.
Officials stated that the tour was designed to provide students with exposure to the ethos, professionalism, and operational excellence of the Indian Army, while fostering national integration and youth empowerment. The programme also aimed to inspire a sense of civic responsibility, patriotism, and discipline among the young participants.
