Imphal, July 18: Reaffirming its commitment to youth empowerment and skill development, the Assam Rifles facilitated the departure of selected candidates from Manipur's Imphal West district under the eighth batch of the Homeland Security Group Institution, enabling them to pursue professional education and employment opportunities across the country.

Officials said the initiative aims to provide meaningful career opportunities to the youth by connecting them with reputed educational institutions and employers, thereby promoting self-reliance and socio-economic development in the region.
As part of the programme, 51 trainees left for the Swamy Vivekanandha Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, where they will undergo professional medical education. In addition, 10 candidates secured placements at Taj Ganga Kutir Resort & Spa, Raichak, West Bengal, while four trainees obtained local employment with M/s Vensar Construction Limited in Imphal.
Before their departure, a felicitation ceremony was organised on July 11 at the Homeland Academy of Tactical Security and Fire Safety, where outstanding trainees were honoured for their achievements. The event was attended by Assam Rifles officials, instructors, trainees and their family members.
During the ceremony, officials encouraged the selected candidates to make the best use of the opportunities provided and serve as role models for other young people in the region.
The Assam Rifles said the initiative reflects its sustained efforts to promote education, skill development and employment generation among the youth of the Northeast, helping them build successful careers while contributing to nation-building.
