Kohima, Aug 7: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps has intensified its healthcare and humanitarian outreach across Nagaland, extending medical assistance to local communities as well as veterans and their families through a series of people-centric initiatives.

As part of its ongoing community engagement programme, Assam Rifles provided timely medical assistance to an elderly woman who sustained injuries at Phek. The prompt intervention ensured that the injured woman received necessary medical attention and support.
In another initiative, a Free Medical Camp was organised at Laniye village in Phek district, offering residents access to basic healthcare services and medical consultations. The camp focused on taking essential healthcare closer to communities, particularly those in areas where access to medical facilities can be challenging.
A comprehensive Health Camp was also conducted at the Unit Hospital in Kohima. The programme emphasised preventive healthcare and encouraged beneficiaries to undergo routine health check-ups and seek timely medical advice. Such initiatives aim to promote greater awareness about health and preventive wellness among local communities.
Assam Rifles also extended its welfare outreach to former servicemen by organising an Ex-Servicemen Medical-cum-Interaction Camp at Noklak. The camp provided veterans and their dependents with health check-ups, medical consultations and an opportunity to interact with personnel regarding their welfare concerns.
The initiatives underline Assam Rifles' broader emphasis on strengthening its engagement with communities through healthcare, humanitarian assistance and welfare activities. By organising medical camps and providing assistance during emergencies, the force continues to contribute to improving access to essential services in remote and underserved areas.
The outreach also reflects a focus on supporting those who have previously served the nation, with medical and welfare assistance aimed at addressing the needs of ex-servicemen and their dependents.
