Assam Rifles extends blood donation support in Phek

Phek , April 30: Assam Rifles extended humanitarian assistance through a voluntary blood donation drive at District Hospital Phek, reinforcing its commitment to community welfare and emergency healthcare support in the region.

The initiative was undertaken on April 29, 2026, after a patient admitted to the hospital was reported to be suffering from severe anaemia and required immediate blood transfusion. Responding promptly to the medical requirement, Assam Rifles personnel coordinated with hospital authorities to arrange the required blood units.
Two units of A positive blood were donated by volunteers from the force. The entire process was carried out in strict adherence to medical protocols and under the supervision of hospital staff to ensure safety and proper handling.
Hospital authorities confirmed that the timely availability of blood helped meet the urgent medical need of the patient, stabilising their condition. The cooperation between Assam Rifles and the medical team was acknowledged as crucial in managing the emergency effectively.
Officials stated that such humanitarian initiatives reflect Assam Rifles’ broader role beyond security duties, particularly in supporting healthcare services in remote and underserved areas. The force has consistently been involved in similar community-oriented activities, including medical assistance, disaster relief, and welfare drives.
