September 20, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Kohima, Sep 19: The Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Spear Corps, flagged off a ‘Seema Darshan Tour’ for students and teachers of Government Higher Secondary School, Rusoma, Nagaland, as part of an initiative aimed at fostering national integration, broadening young minds and empowering youth through educational exposure.

The tour will take the students through Guwahati, Tenga, Tawang and Tezpur before culminating in Kohima, offering them an opportunity to experience the country’s diverse cultural and geographical landscape.
During the tour, the students are expected to gain firsthand exposure to frontier regions and understand the unique challenges and responsibilities associated with safeguarding India’s borders. The programme will also provide them an opportunity to interact with security personnel and learn about their role in maintaining security and assisting communities in remote areas.
The initiative seeks to take learning beyond the classroom by exposing students to different regions, cultures and traditions. Such interactions are aimed at encouraging curiosity, confidence and a broader understanding of India’s unity in diversity.
The tour also provides students an opportunity to witness the varied landscapes of the Northeast and experience the rich cultural heritage of the region. Visits to places along the route are expected to add an educational and experiential dimension to the journey.
The Assam Rifles has been undertaking youth-oriented initiatives in the Northeast with a focus on education, exposure, community engagement and national integration. The ‘Seema Darshan Tour’ forms part of these efforts to connect young people with different parts of the country while creating greater awareness about the contribution of the armed and security forces.
For the participating students and teachers, the journey is expected to be both an educational experience and an opportunity to develop a deeper appreciation of India’s cultural diversity, frontier regions and the responsibilities associated with national security.
