Assam Rifles high schools in Nagaland celebrate 79 I- Day

August 17, 2025 | BK News Service

The spirit of patriotism and unity was on full display as Assam Rifles High Schools (ARHS) across Nagaland — in Tuensang, Mokokchung, Mon, and Phek — celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and national pride.
The celebrations began with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag at all schools, conducted by senior officers of the Assam Rifles, followed by the soulful rendition of the National Anthem, echoing the spirit of freedom and sacrifice.
Students, teachers, and Assam Rifles personnel gathered in large numbers to commemorate the day that marks India's liberation from colonial rule. The schools were adorned with tricolour decorations, and the campuses buzzed with cultural activities, speeches, and performances that celebrated India's rich heritage and the contributions of its freedom fighters.
In each school, students participated in patriotic songs, dances, and elocution contests, showcasing their talent and deep sense of pride in the nation's journey. Speeches by school leaders and Assam Rifles officers emphasized the importance of upholding the values of the Constitution and preserving the unity and integrity of the nation.
In Tuensang and Mon, march-past parades by students added a ceremonial touch to the occasion, drawing applause from guests and local dignitaries. Meanwhile, in Mokokchung and Phek, the schools organized quiz competitions and exhibitions focused on India’s freedom movement and cultural diversity, engaging students in a deeper understanding of the nation’s legacy.
Officers of the Assam Rifles took the opportunity to interact with the students and staff, highlighting the role of the armed forces in nation-building and the importance of education in shaping future leaders. They encouraged students to contribute positively to society and uphold the values of patriotism, service, and unity.
The 79th Independence Day celebrations at the Assam Rifles High Schools reflected not only the patriotic zeal of the students but also the dedication of the Assam Rifles in fostering education and community development in the region.
As the national flag fluttered proudly over the hills of Nagaland, the message was clear — the spirit of freedom continues to thrive in every corner of India, thanks to the efforts of institutions like the Assam Rifles and the youth they inspire.
