Shillong, Nov 27: The Assam Rifles conducted its 16th Samman Samaroh at Headquarters DGAR, Laitkor, Shillong, to honor retiring personnel for their dedicated service to the nation. Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General AssamRifles, felicitated 26 Junior Commissioned Officers, 24 Other Ranks, and one Civil Staff member in a ceremony marked by dignity and warmth.

The event was attended by 52 family members from across the country, adding a personal touch to the occasion and allowing loved ones to join in celebrating the contributions of the retirees. A total of 51 personnel are scheduled to retire on 30 November 2025 after years of selfless and committed service along challenging frontiers and border areas.
The ceremony concluded with an informal tea session, where participants shared cherished memories and experiences, reflecting the deep camaraderie, pride, and esprit de corps that characterize the Assam Rifles family. The event not only honored individual service but also reinforced the bonds that unite the regiment across generations.
