
Shillong, Mar 23: The Assam Rifles held its Commanders Conference 2026 at Laitkor, Shillong, under the chairmanship of Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles (DGAR), aimed at bolstering operational readiness and strategic coordination across the Force.
The conference brought together senior commanders from different Assam Rifles battalions to deliberate on enhancing operational capabilities, improving efficiency, and addressing emerging security challenges in the northeastern region and along sensitive border areas. During the conference, the prestigious Rajbhasha Trophies were presented to 23 Assam Rifles, 28 Assam Rifles, and 34 Assam Rifles in recognition of their outstanding contribution to promoting the use of Hindi in official work culture, reinforcing the importance of national language compliance in administrative functioning.
Addressing the commanders, Lt Gen Lakhera emphasized that operational efficiency goes hand-in-hand with disciplined administration and personnel welfare.
