Dimapur, June 16: Assam Rifles, operating under the Spear Corps, organised a free multi-speciality medical camp in Longleng district of Nagaland as part of its ongoing community outreach and humanitarian initiatives in remote and underserved regions.

The camp aimed to improve access to healthcare for local populations in far-flung areas where medical facilities are limited. A dedicated team of doctors and medical staff provided free consultations, basic diagnostic services, treatment, and essential medicines to residents.
According to officials, a total of 406 beneficiaries attended the camp and received medical assistance across various specialities. The services covered general health check-ups along with treatment for common ailments, with an emphasis on early diagnosis and preventive care.
The initiative reflects the broader civic action efforts of the Assam Rifles, which regularly conducts welfare activities in remote parts of the Northeast to strengthen community relations and support public health infrastructure.
Officials said such camps are part of a sustained outreach strategy under Spear Corps to build trust with local communities while addressing urgent healthcare gaps in difficult-to-access regions.
The programme was well received by residents, who highlighted the importance of such initiatives in improving healthcare access in rural and remote areas.
