Assam Rifles holds free medical camp in Mizoram

Champhai, April 28: Assam Rifles conducted a free medical camp at Farkawn village in Champhai district as part of its ongoing community welfare and outreach initiatives.

The camp witnessed strong participation from locals, with around 350 villagers availing medical services during the programme. A dedicated team of medical professionals from Assam Rifles provided free consultations, conducted basic health check-ups, and distributed essential medicines to those in need.
The initiative aimed to extend accessible healthcare to remote areas, where medical facilities are often limited, and to address immediate health concerns of the local population. Villagers were examined for common ailments, and awareness was also created regarding basic hygiene and preventive healthcare practices.
Assam Rifles officials said such outreach programmes are an integral part of their civic action efforts, designed to build trust and strengthen bonds with local communities in the region. They added that the force remains committed to supporting public welfare alongside its primary operational responsibilities.
Local residents appreciated the initiative, expressing gratitude for the timely medical assistance and highlighting the importance of such camps in improving healthcare access in far-flung areas.
