Shillong, Sep 8: The Directorate General of Assam Rifles organised a Subedar Major’s Conclave in Shillong on September 7, bringing together Subedar Majors from formations across the Force for discussions on leadership, administration, welfare and operational preparedness.

The conclave was addressed by Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General Assam Rifles, who interacted with the participating Subedar Majors and emphasised their important role in maintaining the effectiveness and cohesion of the Force.
The gathering provided a platform for detailed deliberations on strengthening the leadership responsibilities of Subedar Majors and improving administrative efficiency. Discussions also focused on welfare-related matters concerning troops and their families, with participants sharing experiences and practical suggestions.
The interaction highlighted the importance of addressing personnel-related concerns while ensuring that units remain disciplined, motivated and operationally prepared. Welfare issues affecting troops and their families were discussed as an important component of maintaining morale and organisational effectiveness.
