Kiphire, Sep 12: Assam Rifles organised a free medical camp at Amahatore village in Kiphire district of Nagaland on September 11, providing healthcare services to residents and students in the remote hilly area.

A total of 160 people, including 115 villagers and 45 students, underwent health screening during the camp. They were also provided free medical consultations and essential medicines.
The initiative was aimed at improving access to basic healthcare for people living in remote areas, where medical facilities and regular health services can be difficult to access.
Medical personnel interacted with the villagers and students, assessed their health conditions and provided medical advice and medicines based on their requirements. The programme also helped create greater awareness about preventive healthcare and the importance of timely medical consultation.
The camp formed part of Assam Rifles' community outreach efforts in Nagaland, focusing on healthcare assistance and strengthening engagement with local communities.
The initiative assumes particular significance in remote and hilly areas, where geographical challenges can make access to healthcare services difficult. By taking medical assistance directly to the village, the camp provided immediate support to residents while strengthening community-oriented outreach.
The participation of students also provided an opportunity to extend health awareness among younger members of the community and encourage healthy practices from an early age.
The medical camp reflects Assam Rifles' continued emphasis on community welfare alongside its operational responsibilities, with such initiatives aimed at improving healthcare accessibility and building stronger ties with people in remote areas of the region.
