Assam Rifles holds medical camp in Makui

September 05, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Kangpokpi, Sep 4: Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Makui village in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on September 3, providing healthcare services and medical guidance to villagers from Makui and surrounding areas.

The camp offered medical consultations, basic treatment and health screening, with special emphasis on detecting hypertension, diabetes and other lifestyle-related health conditions.
A large number of villagers benefited from the initiative, which provided an opportunity for residents, particularly those with limited access to regular healthcare services, to undergo basic medical assessment and seek professional advice.
Medical personnel also interacted with villagers on the importance of preventive healthcare and regular health monitoring. Participants were encouraged to remain alert to symptoms associated with hypertension and diabetes and to seek timely medical attention when required.
The camp further highlighted the importance of adopting healthier lifestyle practices to reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases. Villagers were sensitised about regular health check-ups, balanced nutrition, physical activity and other preventive measures.
The initiative reflects Assam Rifles’ continued focus on community outreach and welfare activities in remote and underserved areas of Manipur. Such medical camps help bridge gaps in access to basic healthcare while strengthening interaction and trust between security forces and local communities.
The medical outreach at Makui was aimed not only at providing immediate consultation and treatment but also at promoting greater awareness about preventive healthcare and lifestyle-related diseases among residents.
The initiative reaffirmed Assam Rifles’ commitment to supporting the well-being of communities in the region through sustained humanitarian and welfare-oriented activities.
