May 06, 2026 | BK News Service

Kamjong May 5: Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, organised Medical and Dental Camps in remote villages of Kamjong district, Manipur, as part of its ongoing outreach and civic action initiatives aimed at improving healthcare access in underserved areas.

The camps provided free medical and dental check-ups, consultations, distribution of essential medicines, and health awareness sessions for local residents. A total of over 220 civilians benefited from the initiative, including 52 children, 94 women, and 83 men.
Medical teams from Assam Rifles examined patients for common ailments, dental issues, and general health concerns, while also educating villagers on hygiene practices, preventive healthcare, and early detection of diseases.
Officials stated that the initiative was specifically designed to address healthcare gaps in remote and difficult-to-reach regions where access to medical facilities remains limited. The camps also aimed to strengthen community welfare and build greater awareness about basic health and sanitation practices.
Local residents expressed appreciation for the effort, noting that such initiatives provide essential relief in areas where regular medical services are scarce. The outreach also reinforced trust and goodwill between the local population and security forces operating in the region.
Assam Rifles reiterated its commitment to continuing similar welfare activities in remote parts of Manipur and other Northeastern states, focusing on healthcare, education, and community development alongside its operational responsibilities.
