Kohima, Mar 26: The Assam Rifles under SpearCorps recently organised multiple Multi-Speciality Medical Camps across remote areas of Nagaland, including Kiruphema, Peren, Lekromi, and Zeizou, to provide quality healthcare services to underserved communities.
These camps aimed to address the lack of accessible medical facilities in far-flung villages, offering consultations across various specialties such as general medicine, paediatrics, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, and gynaecology. Free medicines, diagnostic services, and health awareness sessions were also provided to the attendees.
Medical officers and paramedical staff from Assam Rifles collaborated with local health authorities to ensure the camps were comprehensive and well-coordinated. Preventive healthcare measures, sanitation awareness, and nutrition guidance were also imparted to promote long-term well-being among the villagers.
Residents expressed gratitude for the initiative, highlighting that such interventions help overcome the difficulties of traveling long distances to access proper medical care. The camps also facilitated identification of patients requiring advanced treatment, enabling referrals to higher medical facilities.
Through these camps, Assam Rifles reaffirmed its commitment to supporting civilian welfare alongside its security duties, bridging gaps in healthcare accessibility, and fostering goodwill in the northeastern border regions.
