Chieswama, Nov 29: The Assam Rifles conducted a comprehensive “Rubaru” Mental Wellness Session for the families of its personnel at Chieswama and Chümoukedima, Nagaland, on November 27, 2025. The session, themed “Mera Wajood, Suno Meri Awaaz”, was attended by 47 families, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to the mental health and emotional well-being of its personnel and their loved ones.
Led by renowned Psychology Counsellor Mrs Saloni, the session provided a safe, open, and supportive environment where participants could share and discuss various emotional challenges associated with military life. Topics addressed included anxiety, parenting pressures, fatigue, communication difficulties, and the stress and strain caused by prolonged separation from family due to service commitments.
The interactive session encouraged participants to express their feelings openly, learn coping strategies, and gain insights into managing everyday mental and emotional pressures. Families were guided on effective communication, stress management, and ways to foster resilience, promoting overall wellness and strengthening familial bonds.
Organisers emphasised the importance of recognising mental health as an integral aspect of overall well-being, especially for families who often experience unique challenges due to the demanding nature of military service. The session also highlighted Assam Rifles’ proactive approach in extending support beyond operational duties, fostering a culture of care, empathy, and emotional preparedness among personnel and their families.
The programme concluded with a reaffirmation of Assam Rifles’ commitment to holistic support for its personnel, ensuring that families are equipped with the resources, guidance, and confidence to navigate the challenges of military life while maintaining emotional balance and mental wellness.
