Srikona, June 5: Assam Rifles commemorated World Environment Day 2026 by organising a tree plantation drive at HQ IGAR (East), Srikona, Assam on June 5.

As part of the initiative, more than 500 saplings of various species were planted with enthusiastic participation from troops. The drive aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, ecological conservation, and enhancement of green cover in the region.
The programme reflected Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
Officials said such initiatives are regularly undertaken by Assam Rifles to strengthen awareness on climate action and encourage eco-friendly practices among personnel.
