July 01, 2026 | BK News Service

Khonsa, June 30: The Assam Rifles organised a Sub-National Polio Immunisation Drive at the Unit Hospital in Khonsa, Arunachal Pradesh, on 28 June 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to support national public health initiatives and ensure comprehensive child healthcare coverage.

The drive was aimed at administering polio drops to all eligible children, reinforcing the Government of India’s mission of sustaining a polio-free nation. Medical teams from the unit hospital facilitated the smooth conduct of the campaign, ensuring timely immunisation and awareness among participants.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from families of Assam Rifles personnel, members of the Indian Army, CRPF personnel, and local civilians, reflecting strong community engagement and trust in the healthcare outreach programme.
Officials noted that the successful conduct of the drive highlights the commitment of the Khonsa Battalion towards extending medical support beyond operational duties and contributing meaningfully to public health welfare in remote and underserved areas.
The programme also underscored the role of Assam Rifles in fostering civil–military cooperation while actively supporting national health campaigns aimed at improving grassroots healthcare delivery.
