Assam Rifles holds security review in Lekhapani

Lekhapani, Mar 30: The Assam Rifles, under Spear Corps, organised a high-level security meeting at Lekhapani, Assam, on March 30, 2026, aimed at reviewing the current security environment and strengthening coordination among forces.

Senior officials from the Indian Army, Assam Police, and various intelligence agencies participated in the meeting, which focused on analysing threat perceptions, recent incidents, and preventive measures in the region.
During the review, officials stressed the importance of heightened vigilance, timely intelligence sharing, and proactive patrolling to maintain law and order in sensitive border areas. The meeting also emphasised joint operational planning and coordination between paramilitary, police, and intelligence agencies to prevent infiltration, smuggling, and other unlawful activities.
Commanders highlighted the need to leverage technology, including surveillance systems and communication networks, to enhance situational awareness and response capabilities. Measures for community engagement were also discussed to ensure public cooperation in maintaining security.
The Assam Rifles reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the region and ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents, while fostering closer coordination with civil and intelligence agencies for efficient enforcement of law and security measures.
The session concluded with actionable directives for regular monitoring, follow-ups on intelligence inputs, and strengthened inter-agency collaboration to address emerging challenges in the northeastern border areas.
