Assam Rifles holds security review in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, April 1 : The AssamRifles convened a district-level security meeting at Somsai Garrison, Ukhrul, focusing on reviewing and strengthening the overall security posture in the district and adjoining areas. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Assam Rifles and attended by key civil authorities, including the District Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, and representatives from intelligence agencies.

During the deliberations, participants assessed the prevailing law-and-order situation, identified border vulnerabilities, and discussed strategies for enhanced surveillance along critical sectors. Emphasis was placed on real-time intelligence sharing and coordination between military, police, and civil agencies to pre-empt potential threats.
The meeting also explored measures to strengthen operational readiness, including joint patrolling, rapid response protocols, and deployment of technological resources for monitoring sensitive areas. Officials underlined the importance of close coordination between security forces and civil administration to ensure public safety and maintain peace in the district.
The DIG highlighted that such periodic security reviews are crucial to maintaining situational awareness, fostering inter-agency collaboration, and addressing emerging challenges proactively. Civil authorities and intelligence representatives appreciated the Assam Rifles’ initiative in fostering a cohesive approach to district security.
The session concluded with directives for enhanced vigilance, improved information sharing, and coordinated operational planning to safeguard Ukhrul and adjoining regions against any security threats.
