The event was attended by Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General Assam Rifles, who interacted with veterans and acknowledged their contribution and service to the nation.
The outreach programme provided a common platform for veterans and their families to seek assistance on a range of service and welfare-related matters. A medical camp was also organised during the event, providing healthcare support and consultations to participating veterans and their dependents.

Addressing the gathering, Lt Gen Lakhera acknowledged the invaluable role played by veterans of the Assam Rifles and their families. He reiterated the force’s commitment to extending continued assistance and welfare support to its veteran community.
The outreach drive also provided an opportunity for veterans to directly raise their concerns and seek guidance from representatives handling pension, documentation, welfare and other administrative matters.
The Assam Rifles said such initiatives are aimed at strengthening the enduring bond between the force and its veterans and ensuring that former personnel and their families remain connected with the organisation.
The Nashik outreach formed part of the Assam Rifles’ continued efforts to engage with its veteran community and provide accessible support for their welfare and service-related needs.
