
Aizawl, June 29: Assam Rifles organised a veterans’ welfare outreach programme in Aizawl on 27 June 2026, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and well-being of Veer Naris, ex-servicemen, and their families.
As part of the initiative, Assam Rifles personnel visited the families of Late Rfn Vanlliana (1 Assam Rifles) and Ex-Serviceman Nk Lalramhluna (9 Assam Rifles). During the visits, the team interacted closely with the family members and reviewed their welfare requirements.
The personnel also provided detailed guidance regarding various government and defence welfare schemes available for veterans and their dependents, ensuring that beneficiaries are able to access support mechanisms effectively.
In addition, financial assistance was extended to the families through Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles as part of the organisation’s continuing welfare outreach efforts.
Officials said the initiative reflects Assam Rifles’ sustained focus on looking after its veteran fraternity and maintaining close contact with families of those who have served in the force.
