Assam Rifles holds Yoga drive in Manipur

Moreh, June 17: In a step towards promoting holistic wellness and community engagement ahead of the International Day of Yoga 2026, the Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organised mass yoga sessions at Moreh and Kwatha in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district on Wednesday.

The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 890 people, including local residents, youth and security personnel, reflecting growing awareness about physical and mental well-being in the region.
The sessions were conducted in serene outdoor settings, where trained instructors guided participants through various yoga asanas, breathing techniques and meditation practices aimed at improving physical fitness, mental resilience and emotional balance.
Officials said the programme was designed not only to encourage healthy lifestyles but also to strengthen harmony and unity among communities in the region. The event highlighted the role of yoga in fostering discipline, stress management and overall wellness.
Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that such programmes help promote positive engagement among youth and contribute to a peaceful and healthy environment.
Assam Rifles officials said similar outreach activities will continue as part of ongoing efforts to promote wellness, community interaction and constructive youth engagement across the region.
The event concluded with a collective pledge to adopt yoga as a regular practice for better physical and mental health, reinforcing the message of unity, discipline and holistic development.
