Assam Rifles honours retiring personnel

Shillong, Mar 30: Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, felicitated 145 retiring personnel, including 2 officers, 58 JCOs, 82 other ranks, and 3 civilian staff members, during a dignified Samman Samaroh at Headquarters DGAR, Laitkor, Shillong.

The ceremony, attended by 69 family members from across the country, honoured the contributions of personnel who are scheduled to retire on March 31, 2026, after years of selfless and dedicated service to the nation. The event highlighted the professionalism, commitment, and sacrifices of Assam Rifles personnel, underlining their role in ensuring national security and maintaining peace in border areas.
During the Samman Samaroh, Lt Gen Lakhera lauded the retirees for their exemplary service, emphasizing the values of discipline, integrity, and camaraderie that define the Assam Rifles.
