Shillong, Sep 25: The Assam Rifles held a Samman Samaroh at Headquarters DGAR, Laitkor, Shillong, to felicitate its retiring personnel ahead of their formal retirement on September 30, 2025. The ceremony saw 25 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and 50 Other Ranks being honoured for their dedicated and selfless service to the nation.
Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, personally felicitated the retirees, lauding their professionalism, commitment, and contributions to national security. The event was attended by 21 family members from across the country, reflecting the organisation’s recognition of the families’ support in the personnel’s journey.
The ceremony concluded with a group interaction over tea, where participants shared cherished memories, stories of service, and experiences from their careers. The gathering fostered camaraderie, pride, and mutual respect among the retirees and their families, celebrating both personal and professional achievements.
