Churachandpur , Oct 21: Assam Rifles paid solemn tribute to retired Havildar Lalpienglien Joute of 7 Assam Rifles, who passed away at the age of 91 on October 18, 2026, at Zote Veng in Churachandpur district of Manipur.

A total of 23 Assam Rifles personnel joined around 500 members of the local community in attending the veteran’s last rites, reflecting the respect and affection he commanded among fellow personnel and residents.
The force expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, sharing their grief over the loss of the veteran.
The tribute highlighted Assam Rifles’ enduring bond with its retired personnel and their families, recognising the service and contributions of veterans who dedicated a part of their lives to the force.
The participation of a large number of local residents also reflected the community’s solidarity with the bereaved family during this difficult time.
