Mon, Sep 20: The Assam Rifles organised “A Day with Company Commander” at COB Tizit in Mon district of Nagaland, providing local students an opportunity to interact with personnel and gain an insight into the force’s role, history, traditions and career opportunities in the Armed Forces.

The programme was designed to provide students with meaningful exposure to the life and responsibilities of Assam Rifles personnel. During the interaction, students were briefed about the organisation’s history, traditions, operational responsibilities and contribution to security and community engagement in the Northeast.
The session also focused on career opportunities available to young people in the Armed Forces, encouraging students to explore service-oriented careers and understand the values associated with military life.
The students actively participated in the interaction and had the opportunity to engage with Assam Rifles personnel in an informal and informative setting.
Sports and recreational activities were also organised as part of the programme. The activities encouraged teamwork, discipline, coordination and sportsmanship among the participating students while providing an enjoyable experience.
The initiative aimed to strengthen interaction between the security forces and the local community while creating greater awareness among young people about the Armed Forces.
The Assam Rifles said such youth-oriented programmes provide students with constructive learning experiences and encourage values such as discipline, teamwork, responsibility and service.
The event also offered students an opportunity to understand the diverse roles performed by Assam Rifles personnel and the professional avenues available within the Armed Forces.
