Kohima, June 24: In a meaningful initiative aimed at fostering leadership qualities and civic awareness among youth, the Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organized an interactive outreach programme titled “A Day with Company Commander” at Kohima, Nagaland.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from 80 students and staff members of Cimorb Public School and Government Middle School, Kezo Town. The programme was designed to provide students with exposure to disciplined organisational life, teamwork, and community responsibility through engaging and educational activities.
As part of the initiative, the participants took part in a series of interactive sessions and recreational activities, including group games and a lively football shootout that encouraged teamwork, coordination, and sportsmanship. The informal yet structured engagement helped students connect with values such as discipline, leadership, and mutual respect.
A key highlight of the programme was the Basic Medical First Aid training session conducted by Assam Rifles personnel. Students were introduced to essential first response techniques, including how to handle minor injuries, provide immediate assistance in emergencies, and respond calmly in crisis situations. The training aimed at building basic life-saving awareness among young participants.
Officials stated that the initiative is part of Assam Rifles’ broader commitment to youth development and civic engagement in the Northeast region. By engaging directly with school students, the force aims to nurture a sense of responsibility, leadership, and social awareness from an early age.
Teachers and school representatives appreciated the initiative, noting that such programmes play an important role in shaping the personality of students beyond classroom learning. They emphasized that exposure to disciplined environments and practical life skills contributes significantly to overall character development.
The Assam Rifles reaffirmed its commitment to continue organizing similar outreach activities across the region, focusing on education, health awareness, and youth empowerment as part of its sustained community engagement efforts under Spear Corps.
