Assam Rifles hosts medical camp in Peren

Kohima, Mar 26: AssamRifles, under its flagship initiative “Friends of the Hills,” in collaboration with District Hospital, Peren, organised a multi-speciality medical camp at Peren Town, Nagaland, on 25 March 2026. The camp aimed to provide quality healthcare services to residents from remote villages along the Nagaland–Manipur border, many of whom face significant challenges in accessing specialised medical care.

The medical camp offered expert consultations, diagnoses, and treatment across multiple specialities, ensuring comprehensive healthcare support. Medical teams from District Hospital, Peren, played a pivotal role in coordinating the camp, managing patient flow, and delivering effective treatment to a large number of attendees.
The initiative was particularly appreciated by the local Zeliang community, who lauded Assam Rifles for addressing critical healthcare gaps in the region. Residents expressed relief at receiving timely medical attention and emphasised the positive impact of such camps in promoting overall community health.
Through “Friends of the Hills,” Assam Rifles continues to strengthen civil-military engagement, improving access to essential services while fostering trust and goodwill in remote and underserved areas of Nagaland.
