Aboi , May 8: Assam Rifles conducted a youth outreach programme titled “A Day with Company Commander” under the theme “Igniting Young Minds” at Aboi, aimed at inspiring students towards discipline, service, and nation-building.

The event saw participation of around 60 students and 12 teachers, along with staff and local residents from Wanka School, Government Public School, and Government Polytechnic College. The programme began with a flag hoisting ceremony, followed by an interactive session between students and Assam Rifles personnel.
During the interaction, troops briefed participants on career opportunities in the armed forces, including Agniveer recruitment and Short Service Commission (SSC) entry schemes. Students were also given a guided tour of the company area to familiarise them with the functioning and operational environment of Assam Rifles units.
The event included cultural performances, fun games, and a dog show, which added enthusiasm and encouraged teamwork, discipline, and cultural awareness among the participants.
The programme concluded with a community lunch, prize distribution, and an open interaction session. Officials said the initiative helped strengthen civil-military relations while motivating youth to pursue careers in national service and contribute positively to society.
