Mizoram, May 2: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organised a community outreach programme titled “A Day with Company Commander” in Siaha district, Mizoram, on April 30, 2026, aimed at engaging local youth through sports, fitness, and recreational activities.

The event featured yoga sessions designed to promote physical and mental well-being among participants, encouraging discipline, focus, and a healthy lifestyle. This was followed by volleyball matches and other recreational activities that saw enthusiastic participation from local youth.
The programme provided a platform for interaction between security personnel and the youth, fostering trust, mutual understanding, and a sense of community bonding in the region.
Officials said the initiative aimed to channelise young energy towards constructive activities, promote sportsmanship, and strengthen discipline and teamwork. It also reflected Assam Rifles’ continued efforts to engage with local communities and support youth development through positive outreach programmes in remote areas.
