
Khongsang, April 18: The Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organised a special outreach programme titled “A Day with Company Commander” for students of JR Memorial School and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose School in Khongsang, aimed at strengthening civil–military relations and inspiring youth engagement.
The initiative, conducted under the theme “Cultivating Bonds with Youth,” focused on building trust, discipline, and motivation among students by offering them direct interaction with serving officers of the Assam Rifles.
During the programme, students were briefed on the role and responsibilities of the armed forces, their contribution to maintaining peace and security in the region, and the importance of discipline and leadership in personal development. The Company Commander interacted closely with the students, answering their questions and sharing experiences from service in challenging terrains.
The session also included motivational talks aimed at encouraging students to pursue education with dedication and to develop qualities of teamwork, resilience, and national pride. Officers highlighted how youth play a crucial role in shaping the future of the region and the country.
Teachers and school authorities appreciated the initiative, stating that such programmes help broaden students’ perspectives and create positive role models within the community.
