Assam Rifles hosts youth Volleyball tournament in Manipur

In a spirited effort to promote sportsmanship, unity, and healthy lifestyles among the youth, the Assam Rifles organized a friendly volleyball competition in Ishok village, located in the Bishnupur District of Manipur. The event, part of the force’s ongoing outreach and Civic Action Program, saw enthusiastic participation from five local teams.
The volleyball tournament served as a vibrant platform for young athletes to showcase their skills, foster camaraderie, and engage in constructive physical activity. Held in close coordination with local Ward Members, community leaders, and senior officials, the competition turned into a celebration of teamwork and community spirit.
The event attracted a large number of spectators from nearby villages, who cheered on the players and applauded the initiative taken by the Assam Rifles. Community members expressed appreciation for the force's continued commitment to the welfare and development of local youth.
Speaking at the event, a senior Assam Rifles officer said, “Sports have the power to bring people together and develop character, discipline, and unity among the youth. This tournament is not just about winning or losing, but about encouraging positive engagement and nurturing leadership qualities.”
The day-long tournament culminated in a lively prize distribution ceremony where the winning team was felicitated with trophies and prizes. Certificates and mementos were also handed out to all participating teams to acknowledge their enthusiasm and effort.
Local leaders commended the Assam Rifles for their initiative in fostering social harmony and encouraging youth to channel their energy into constructive pursuits. One Ward Member remarked, “Events like these not only uplift the spirit of the youth but also strengthen community bonds. We are grateful to the Assam Rifles for their continuous support.”
