
Kohima, April 10: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organised an outreach visit for students and staff of the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (NIEDO) at Chieswema Garrison, Kohima, to Tabitha Enabling Academy in Nagaland, aimed at promoting empathy, inclusion, and mutual understanding.
The visit provided participants with an opportunity to engage with differently-abled students in a supportive and interactive environment, encouraging meaningful exchange and shared learning experiences.
During the programme, students interacted through various activities designed to build awareness about abilities, challenges, and the importance of inclusive education. The initiative focused on breaking barriers and fostering sensitivity towards persons with disabilities.
Officials stated that such outreach programmes play a key role in nurturing compassion, social responsibility, and respect for diversity among young participants.
The interaction was well received by both students and staff, and was seen as a positive step towards strengthening inclusive values and community bonding in the region
