Mokokchung , Dec 18: Assam Rifles officially unveiled the poster for the First Hav Mering Ao, SC Open Badminton Tournament on 17 December 2025, marking the beginning of the build-up to the event scheduled from 28 to 31 January 2026. The ceremony, held at Mokokchung, was conducted under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme (2025–26) and aimed to foster community engagement and youth participation in sports.

The poster was formally released by Maj Gen Manish Kumar, SM, IG Assam Rifles (North), in the presence of civil dignitaries, NCC cadets, local residents, and badminton enthusiasts across various age groups. The gathering reflected widespread enthusiasm and highlighted the strong support of the local community for sporting initiatives.
