Kohima, July 10: Continuing its efforts to empower the youth of the Northeast through quality education, Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, has inducted 36 meritorious students into the 5th Residential NEET and JEE Coaching Batch (2026-27) under the North East Institute of Development and Opportunity (NIEDO) initiative at Chieswama, Nagaland.

The residential coaching programme is designed to provide talented students from the region with high-quality academic guidance and mentoring to prepare for the highly competitive National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), paving the way for careers in medicine and engineering.
During the induction programme, the selected students were welcomed and encouraged to pursue their academic goals with dedication, discipline and determination. They were motivated to make the most of the opportunity and contribute meaningfully to society by becoming future doctors, engineers and nation-builders.
Officials said the NIEDO initiative reflects Assam Rifles' sustained commitment to promoting educational excellence and creating opportunities for deserving youth from the Northeast, particularly those from remote and underserved areas.
