Assam Rifles leads cleanliness drive

Kakching/Thoubal , Oct 2: The Assam Rifles conducted sanitation drives at Waikhong High School in Kakching and Khongjom War Memorial in Thoubal district on October 1 under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign.

At Waikhong High School, around 50 students and staff members participated in the cleanliness drive. The initiative focused on promoting hygiene and encouraging students to adopt cleanliness as a regular habit while creating a cleaner and healthier learning environment.
A separate sanitation drive was conducted at the Khongjom War Memorial in Thoubal. The activity focused on maintaining the cleanliness and dignity of the historic site, which holds significance in the history and heritage of Manipur.
The participation of students and local communities in such initiatives also highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining public spaces and preserving places of historical importance.
The Assam Rifles’ initiative underscored its continued efforts to promote cleanliness, civic responsibility and community participation under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.
