December 02, 2025 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Aizawl, Dec 1: As part of the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme, a National Integration Tour was successfully conducted from November 17 to 29, 2025, for 20 students and two teachers from the districts of Siaha, Lawngtlai, and Lunglei in South Mizoram. The initiative was aimed at fostering national integration, broadening the horizons of the youth, and exposing them to India’s rich cultural, historical, and administrative heritage.
The tour was formally flagged off by the Governor of Mizoram, marking the commencement of a carefully planned itinerary that combined educational, cultural, and patriotic experiences. During their journey, the students visited several key locations across the country, gaining first-hand insight into India’s diverse heritage and national institutions.
In Guwahati, the participants explored historic and cultural landmarks, understanding the region’s significance in India’s history. The delegation then proceeded to Amritsar, where they visited the Golden Temple, experiencing the spiritual and cultural ethos of the Sikh community. The tour also included New Delhi, where students were taken to prominent national sites including the National War Memorial, India Gate, the Prime Minister’s Museum, and Rashtrapati Bhawan, providing them with a deeper understanding of India’s governance, freedom struggle, and modern achievements.
A highlight of the tour was the interaction with the Hon’ble President of India, an inspiring session that emphasized the values of unity, patriotism, and civic responsibility. The students were encouraged to contribute positively to society while appreciating India’s diversity and democratic traditions.
The Assam Rifles, through such initiatives, continues to play an active role in community engagement, youth empowerment, and national integration, promoting awareness of India’s cultural richness, history, and democratic values among the younger generation. The tour concluded with participants expressing gratitude for the unique opportunity, which they described as a life-changing experience that broadened their perspectives and strengthened their sense of belonging to the nation.
This program reflects Assam Rifles’ ongoing commitment to not only securing India’s borders but also fostering social cohesion and inspiring future leaders from border and remote regions.
