Itanagar, June 9: The Assam Rifles formations under Spear Corps conducted a series of mass yoga sessions across Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Assam, bringing together personnel, local youth and community members in a coordinated wellness initiative.
The sessions were organised at multiple locations, including high-altitude and remote areas, symbolically extending from the Himalayan region to places such as Akhegwo and Jairampur. Officials said the initiative aimed to promote physical fitness, mental resilience and overall well-being among both security personnel and civilians.
Participants performed guided yoga exercises focusing on breathing techniques, flexibility, stress management and mindfulness. Instructors highlighted the importance of yoga in improving concentration, reducing anxiety and strengthening emotional stability, particularly in demanding environments.
According to organisers, the programme also sought to strengthen civil-military engagement by encouraging local participation in health-oriented community activities. Residents, especially youth, joined the sessions enthusiastically, reflecting growing awareness of wellness practices in remote regions.
The initiative forms part of the broader outreach efforts by the Spear Corps to promote health, harmony and unity across the North Eastern states. Officials stated that such programmes contribute not only to physical fitness but also to fostering peace, discipline and social cohesion in the region.
