Kishtwar, May 6: Assam Rifles organised a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir, on 05 May 2026 to honour the supreme sacrifice of two Bravehearts of 7 Assam Rifles—Rfn (GD) Kameshwar Prasad, SC(P) and Rfn (GD) Ram Kumar Arya, SM(P).

The ceremony paid homage to the personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty on 05 May 1991 during Operation Dudhi, when the unit was deployed in Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir.
Operation Dudhi is remembered as a defining chapter in the history of Assam Rifles, reflecting the highest standards of courage, valour, and exemplary junior leadership. The operation resulted in the neutralisation of 72 militants, apprehension of 13 others, and recovery of a large cache of arms, ammunition, and war-like stores.
Senior officers, personnel, and attendees of the ceremony reaffirmed their respect and gratitude for the sacrifices made by the Bravehearts, acknowledging their enduring legacy in safeguarding national security and inspiring future generations of the force.
