Kishtwar, Aug 12: The Assam Rifles organised a solemn wreath-laying ceremony in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, on August 11 to commemorate the third death anniversary of Havildar Nilanchala Patel of 7 Assam Rifles, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on August 11, 2023.

Havildar Patel lost his life at Kukidolong while the unit was deployed at Ghaspani in Nagaland. The ceremony honoured his courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to duty.
The wreath-laying ceremony was marked by solemnity and respect as Assam Rifles personnel paid homage to the fallen soldier and remembered his contribution to the force and the nation.
The force recalled Patel's selfless devotion, courage and dedication to duty, describing his sacrifice as an enduring source of inspiration for personnel serving in the ranks.
The commemoration also reaffirmed the Assam Rifles' solidarity with the martyr's family and its commitment to preserving the memory of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation.
The ceremony served as a reminder of the risks undertaken by security personnel while performing their duties in challenging operational environments and highlighted the values of courage, sacrifice and service that continue to guide the force.
