
Changlang , May 5: The Changlang Battalion of Assam Rifles paid solemn tribute to Rifleman (Late) Nepali Tamang, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty and was killed in action on May 5, 1960, at Imphal, Manipur, during an encounter with an insurgent group.
A wreath-laying ceremony was organised by the unit to honour the braveheart. The Commandant of the battalion led the tribute, laying a wreath at the memorial and saluting the courage and sacrifice of the fallen soldier.
During the ceremony, all ranks of the unit observed solemn remembrance, paying respect to Rifleman Tamang’s service and dedication to the nation. The atmosphere remained reverent as personnel reflected on his contribution and sacrifice.
