
Doda, Oct 4: Assam Rifles conducted a cleanliness and awareness programme at Kendriya Vidyalaya Jodhpur in Doda district on October 4 as part of the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada, promoting the importance of cleanliness, personal hygiene and environmental responsibility among students.
As part of the initiative, Assam Rifles personnel interacted with students and sensitised them about maintaining clean surroundings, adopting healthy hygiene practices and protecting the natural environment. The programme highlighted the role of students as ambassadors of cleanliness and responsible environmental behaviour within their schools, homes and communities.
Students and staff of the school also took a cleanliness pledge, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining hygiene and contributing towards a cleaner and healthier environment.
The participants subsequently joined a cleanliness drive in and around the school premises. As part of the activity, they also cleaned a nearby natural water spring, drawing attention to the importance of protecting local water sources from waste and pollution.
The initiative provided students with an opportunity to translate the message of cleanliness into practical action. It also underscored the importance of collective participation in keeping public spaces and natural resources clean.
