May 04, 2026 | BK News Service

Jhunjhunu, May 3: As part of its ongoing Outreach Drive, Assam Rifles visited members of its fraternity residing in Jhunjhunu, Haryana on 02 May 2026, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of serving and retired personnel and their families.

During the visit, the outreach team called on Rifleman (General Duty) Rajpal Singh (Retd) of 39 Assam Rifles, who is suffering from traumatic quadriparesis with 90% disability following a road accident in 2018 while on leave. The team also interacted with his family and was informed about the medical condition of his younger daughter, Miss Ridhi Dewan (10), who has an 80% mental disability since birth. The officials conveyed heartfelt support and assured continued assistance from the organisation.
The team later visited Havildar (ORL) Balbir Singh (Retd) of 41 Assam Rifles, aged 63, who is currently bedridden and recovering after undergoing spine (disc) surgery on 25 April 2026. They met the veteran and his family, enquired about his health, and extended assurance of all possible support during his recovery.
Both families expressed gratitude to the Director General Assam Rifles and the Outreach Team for their compassionate engagement and sustained support. They acknowledged the force’s continued commitment towards the welfare of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and their dependents.
The visit reflects Assam Rifles’ enduring ethos of care, solidarity, and responsibility towards its extended family beyond active service.
