Imphal, Sep 30: Assam Rifles personnel under the Spear Corps provided timely medical assistance to a snakebite victim at the Unit Hospital in Noney, Manipur, helping save the patient’s life through prompt administration of Anti-Snake Venom (ASV).

According to Assam Rifles, the victim was brought to the unit hospital following a snakebite and was immediately assessed by medical personnel. Recognising the need for urgent intervention, the medical team administered Anti-Snake Venom and provided necessary treatment and monitoring.
The timely medical response was crucial in stabilising the patient and preventing further complications associated with snake envenomation.
In a separate community outreach initiative, Assam Rifles organised a Free Medical Camp at Kiphire district in Nagaland, providing healthcare services to villagers from the surrounding areas.
The camp offered health check-ups, medical consultations and medicines to residents. Medical personnel also interacted with villagers and addressed their basic healthcare concerns.
The initiative was aimed at extending essential healthcare services to communities in remote areas and promoting awareness about timely medical intervention and preventive healthcare.
Assam Rifles said such humanitarian assistance and community outreach programmes remain an important part of its engagement with people in the Northeast.
The twin initiatives in Manipur and Nagaland underscored the force’s role in providing emergency medical assistance as well as supporting healthcare access for communities in remote and underserved areas.
The programmes also contributed to strengthening interaction and cooperation between Assam Rifles personnel and local communities, reinforcing the force’s outreach and public-service efforts in the region.
