
Khonsa , July 18: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Assam Rifles, under Spear Corps, in a joint operation with the Arunachal Pradesh Police, apprehended one person and recovered 15 packets of suspected heroin from Khonsa in Tirap district on Saturday.
Officials said the operation was launched following specific intelligence inputs regarding the movement of narcotics in the area. Acting swiftly, the joint team intercepted the suspect and conducted a thorough search, leading to the seizure of 15 packets of suspected heroin.
The accused was taken into custody, while the recovered contraband was seized for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Security officials said the operation forms part of the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign aimed at dismantling drug trafficking networks operating in the region.
